With the support of leading scientists, LIMBUA developed particularly high-yielding plants for the highest quality macadamias by evaluating data from Kenyan smallholder farmers in our own nurseries. More than 150,000 organic macadamia seedlings have already been grown in this way. Due to its thick leaves, the macadamia tree also serves as a source of shade and protection against evaporation. Its roots prevent erosion and bind water to the surface. Thus, along with the tree, we also support the surrounding flora for a healthy ecosystem.
In addition to the macadamia, the nursery also produces avocado and mango tree seedlings that are also offered to Kenyan smallholder farmers for their organic mixed plantations. This ensures that they receive plants for the best possible yield.
The seedlings are reserved for the Kenyan smallholders and are not distributed outside Kenya.
